Holy Mother Of Crap!

I took two weeks off from writing about Lost because I had a bad couple of weeks. When I say bad I mean the worst possible weeks. I'm feeling a little better and then I watched Sundown and things blew up! In the previous two weeks we learned about how Locke always lived under the idea of you could not tell him what to do. Well in the sideways we learn his life was kind of pathetic and then he finally stopped living by that mantra and moved on. Then last week we learn about Jack and his reversal from a man of science to maybe a man of faith. He wants the island to fix him.

This week we learn about Sayid's sideways life. To be honest not that interesting till the end, more on that later. Any time the story revolves around Sayid there is usual lots of blood and people getting hurt and tonight was an uber dose of this. First we get a kung fu fight between Sayid and Dogen and then he stabs faux Locke and more killing later with Sayid turning "evil." What do you expect to happen The Others? you tortured him and then tried to kill him multiple times. Did you think that was not going to turn him? If that happened to me and then faux Locke offered to bring back my love a la Star Wars prequel I would probably do it.

Also this whole crazy Claire thing is creepy great, and I can't wait for her to try and kill Kate. You know it is happening and it's going to get all crazy. This makes me wonder if Rousseau was "in the fold" with Smokey. I'm hoping this gets addressed in a later episode because it is just too not be a coincident.

We have also got a little Survivor Lost going on here and the sides are starting to form. On the side of faux Locke/evil is Sayid, Claire and Sawyer on the side of Jacob/good we have Jack and Hurley then the current neutrals are Jin, Sun, Miles and Kate. I know I'm not the only one to noticed this but at the end when the survivors of the smokey attack walked out Kate did not get a head nod fro faux Locke. I think he doesn't want Kate and truthfully who would. I put Sawyer in the evil camp, but I have a feeling that he is going to split and go his own way as usual.

Oh Kate, why do you screw everything up? She is the worst kind of bad penny and I think faux Locke knows this. Think about it, she screws everything up. When Kate told Miles she was going to see Claire I knew she was going to blather on about Aaron and now she may die. Kate needs to learn that forcing the issue is not her strong suit and needs to maybe go with the flow for a while. She got in the way with Jack then Sawyer, wanted to take care of Aaron even though she has no connection to him and that's just a sample of her idiocy.

Back to Sayid turning all Jack Bauer in every universal plain. I loved the fight scene with Keamy the gangster. You just felt that he was going to go all 24 on the room and he did. Keamy tried to plead but was killed for the second time, not a good track record. The look in Sayid's eyes when Ben tried to rescue him was great, total crazy and totally looking for blood. I was surprised he did not stab Ben.

The battle lines for the island have been drawn and it looks like it's Jack and Hurley against everyone else. Now to the more random thoughts:

Boomerang in the house is always a bad idea.

I missed the creepy sounds of smokey followed by total destruction.

I guess not having the money was a bad thing for Jin.

How is everyone able it keep getting back into the temple? Seriously, everyone has been waltzing in and out of that place, some fortress.

Little something from previous weeks. I think the lighthouse belongs to Jacob and the cave is faux Locke's. We saw organization with Jacob and I think the randomness in the cave is a trait of faux Locke. When asked about the numbers faux Locke had no idea what they were about. We learned they are degrees. Why everyone is important is still up for debate.

I think Adam and Eve are Jin and Sun.

Zombie Episode

Hurley asked Sayid "You're not a Zombie are you?" Well tonight's Lost, What Kate Does, was a zombie for the first 50 minutes. The writers brought back the old tired story lines and added a bad action movie feel to it. Sawyer was angry and did his own thing, Kate did the wrong thing and followed Sawyer because she can, Jack turned back into the leader that tries, The Others are mysterious and no one knows if they can trust them and as usual not a lot of answers.

In season two and three there would be a great show followed by a set up show that was less than stellar and as a zombie episode this was definatly a setup. We are going to hopefully figure out what happened to Claire. We did see what happened to Claire in the alternative world of Lost and how Kate and Claire stories are intertwined. The biggest surprise in this reality was seeing Ethan as her doctor. The line I enjoyed was him say he didn't want to stick her with a bunch of needles. In season 1 that's all Ethan did was stick and tried to deliver the baby. To be honest that's the only interesting thing in the alternative reality.

During most of the dialogue between the Losties and The Others was not interesting and rather bland. We did learn that Sayid is somehow infected with "darkness," of course that leads probably everyone to wonder if the same happened to Ben and if this is one of the reasons that Faux Locke was able to come back. What exactly is thid darkness, who knows and right now I don't care, just let him turn and move things along. The twist in tonight's show was that Claire was somehow infected and has turned. This could explain why she is hanging with Christian, but at the end she looked more like Rouso than anything else.

Where this is going I have no idea, but I'd give this episode two thumbs down. You would think the Lost writers would have learned that Kate shows are not that interesting. Kate is much better as a supporting character and not the lead. Her flashbacks/forwards/sidways are never that great and yet they she has to be near the top of the leader board for these.

Lastly Sawyer did do something interesting, he took responsibility for the death of Juliet. His character has been based on blaming others for the problems in the world. Is this his change, Jack appeared to be given a chance to change and finally help people instead of getting them killed or injured (Sayid getting shot, Juliet's death, that car crash back on the main land etc). How is this going to effect everything, will Sawyer see through Faux Locke or will this new change make him blind and Faux Locke will be able to control Sawyer. I've written enough about the worst episode ever this fine series, onto the randomness:

The writers stole a page from the Simpson's Homer The Great episode with Aldo and Justin playing Lenny and Karl. Justin/Karl would start to give out "important" information followed by Aldo/Lenny saying shuuuut uuuuuup!

I'm glad they ended the translation bit. That got old real quick.

Clare and Kate could have gone on a Thelma and Louise type run and that would have made this a better episode.

I guess Hurly is no longer the leader. The shortest but best leader of the Losties.

In the last week recap show it was mentioned that the book found on the dead one armed French man was about Abraham and Isaac. It was written as if the narrator was a defense attorney for Abraham. Could this be a clue to the story behind Jacob and Faux Locke? Could somehow Jacob be his father and he somehow actually killed his "son" and Faux Locke is pissed about being killed and wanted to show Jacob what it felt like.

What Happened

That was the last line in the latest installment of Lost and that says it all, what happened. From about eight seconds in I have never been so confused in all my life. Then 10 minutes later I was even more confused. Slowly I started to get my head around the two hour season premier and I think I am figuring things out.

We started out with Jack on Oceanic flight 815 and it looked like the flight never crashed onto the island. Then all of the sudden we see Kate and Miles on the island and before I can figure out what is happening I see Jack. What happened? My theory starting out is this, the flight "never" crashed on the island but everyone did not go all "Back to the Future" and they are continuing on a their time line. I think it was confirmed at the end with the rocket flare that Richard and the others saw. What does this mean? It looks like for a while at least the flashbacks/forwards are no more but instead we are going to get flash sideways. Going back and forth from the reality we know and the reality that should have been.

It was interesting to see people that have not been on Lost for a while like Boone, Mars and even Atrz the teacher that blew up (still one of the funniest moments). Then at times little things changed from the original version we saw in season one. If I am not mistaken Cindy the flight attendant originally handed Jack two bottles, but in the alternate reality only one. Another example is Hurley talking to Sawyer and Hurley says he is lucky. That is a change from everything we have ever seen or heard from him. I don't even know how to begin the whole Desmond on the plane. The one thing that annoyed me though was that Jack did not remember him from running up the stairs, the only thing I can think of is that never happened in this reality. I'm probably over thinking that a bit, but if I go to a message board it probably already has 5 pages devoted it it.

Those are the three I found but after that I enjoyed the interactions that each character continued to have. Sawyer helping Kate out of the elevator, Kate jumping into the cab that Claire is in. Sayid breaking down the door where Charlie is unconscious. The last one I'll mention was Jack saving Charlie's life, Charlie said something that just made my night, "I was suppose to die." No matter what happens from this time forward in this reality Charlie went from a hero to a drugged out musician. If it was not for Charlie the Oceanic 6 would have never left the island and we would not have this multiple realities right now. I know many hate Charlie, but I liked him and it is a shame that this appears to be his end.

We did get big question answered and that has to deal with everyone's favorite monster, ole smokey. The Lost nerds had it right as the man in black is smokey and we learned that the secret ashes are protecting against him. What's the purpose of turning into smokey other than being a defense mechanism I do not know. Still the man in black/faux Locke is a question and I must have missed this last season but when asked by Ben, faux Locke said the last thing he remembered was dying. I do not think he was talking as Locke and there is something more at play.

Oh poor John Locke, for all this greatness as a character he was turned into nothing more than a puppet and that hurts my esteem for him. Instead of being something great he's a pawn in a chess game of the gods of the island. I still think Terry O'Quinn is doing a great job but he original character has lost his luster.

Yet Ben Linus in all of this continues to amaze me. The greatest line he uttered was when he is trying to get Richard into the statue to see faux Locke. Richard asks him what happened in there and Ben's line was "why don't you go in there and find out." Classic Ben, not giving any information out yet you know that the recipient of the line knows no good can come from going in there. Locke and Ben are the same, pawns, but for some reason I still feel that Ben is still trying to weasel his way into a position of power. He is pure evil, but I wonder if the evil forces on the island are going to be too much for him.

Last, it was interesting to see Locke and Jack have a connection in the new reality. I thought it was interesting Jack telling Locke nothing is impossible. I have a feeling that this relationship is not going to end with Locke wheeling away at the airport. Now some randomness:

What is up with Fu Manchu and his hippy interpreter?

Hurley is starting to turn into the leader and this is awesome, more Hurley the better.

I so wanted to see another Jack Sawyer fight.

Because of an episode of Law and Order: SVU I thought Sayid was going to be killed off.

Am I the only one tired of the Christian Shepard thing?

Is Juliet really dead? She can't be, the preview show gave her a feature. Why feature a character that is dead withing two hours.

Could they not get Anna Lucia back on to cuff Charlie? Come on and give a lady a cameo again.

Is it bad that I could careless about Sun and Jin and their alternate reality?

I guess Maggie Grace was too busy hanging with Liam Neeson to do a cameo.

Another great Hurley line
Fu Manchu: Did you look in the case
Hurley: (sheepishly) Maybe

This Ain't Flipper

Jeff Foxworthy use to do a bit about when he was a kid and the President was on television it was a total catastrophe "Oh, no the Presidents on, we're gonna miss Flipper!" Times have changed and even more than I had thought. A TV show has forced Obama to change the time or the date of his State of the Union address. What show could possible force the leader of the free world to do so or maybe it's a super natural force from the Earth that is creating this change. Would it have anything to do with Ben Linus and John Locke? Yes it does, that show is Lost.

Not just any episode of the greatest show on ABC, but the premiere of the last season. As you can tell I am a follower of Lost and I have been waiting for a new episodes since the credits rolled on May 13th. Regretfully I have devoted a lot of time to this show and I want answers to the show. The thing with Lost is if you miss one minute of the show, that's it, your done because you missed something. I just know that if I am not watching it live I might miss not find out what "smokey" really is because my DVR will crap out.

I understand the importance of the State of the Union it's the Presidents way of telling the nation what he plans to do for the next year. The only problem is with ability to send information out to the masses in an instant, the State of the Union has become nothing more than a campaign PR moment. He's going to talk about health care, the economy, the wars, people in the audience that have done something and he will get about 50 standing ovations which will push the address time to about and hour. Then of course NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and Fox News will have a pissing match as to who will be on longer and will fill their airwaves with pundits on both sides of the politic aisle as they try and push for their parties views. Because this is what America wants, mindless blather by people who think they are smarter than the masses.

It may be blasphemy but I won't learn anything from the State of the Union, if there is something new it won't amount to anything. Remember when Bush mentioned hydrogen fuel, how did that work out I haven't seen Howie Long push one of those yet. I get the whole pushing the agenda thing but I am unemployed and can't get a call back to save my life, Just let me watch Lost and have a moment where I don't have to worry about losing my house or why I can't find a job.

Return to Being Lost

Since December 9th I've not had a lot to look forward to. I know the baby is a big thing and I can't wait for it, but there's a lot of worry and dread with that as well. Then you have the one thing I have been looking forward towards... Lost.

The most confusing yet most awesome show on TV has returned for a 5th year and all I have to say is, I have no idea what is happening but it's FREAKING AWESOME! The two things I have figured out is that part of the Oceanic 6 has realized that they have to return to the island... how... no one knows. Second is Hurley is the only honest and probably good thing in the show.

Let me start with that last statement, Hurly is good. The show is not bad, just everyone else in the show... even to a point the island. We find out that Hurley has always wanted to tell the truth about what happened. The innocence he has makes me wonder if he is the key to the island. Everyone has secrets, except Hurley. That's the key.

I thought it was interesting that all of the Oceanic 6 are now in LA. The island is calling yet will everyone pick up. The hardest problem Ben will have to get everyone back is two people Sun and Hurley. Hurley just turned himself over to the police but that won't be the hardest thing. How about the fact that Widmore and Sun are conspiring to kill Ben. This will make everything complicated.

I'm trying to figure out what is going on with the island. I guess it's not only changing locations it is also changing time. The first part I understood to a point. Then all of the sudden they are in WWII. I guess this explains the polar bear bones that were found in the dessert but besides that I have no idea what is going on.

Then at the end of the episode you have Ms Hawkings at a computer trying to find the island. If you do not remember Ms Hawkings, she's the lady from the Desmond episode where he is back in England after the hatch goes boom. So this means she's real and a computer whiz?

In the preview episode the producers kept talking about this season we will be seeing answers. Unless I've been so confused by Lost for so long I never saw an answer just more confusion. On to the randomness:

Favorite line: "Sayid has crazy ninja moves."

I never thought that a hot pocket could be used as a weapon. I guess Jim Gaffigan will have more material.

Charlotte is about to have her brain explode

I was worried that Desmond would not be on the show any more, but he is the constant.

Ummmm is Locke not dead?

Who doesn't heart Shis Tzus?

Where the hell did Vincent come from? I never saw him in the beginning of the show then all of the sudden there he is.

Lost law: If you start yelling during freak out and you are an ancillary character you will die in some ironic way... thank you Frogurt.

Wait a second how does Sawyer know about Frogurts?

Hey Let's Kill Everyone

With the first episode for about a month, Lost wasted no time to "rev" it up. We had explosions, deceit, Risk, killing of small characters, killing of medium characters, and a smoke monster. This was a Ben episode with a flash forward so it was weird yet awesome. I'm still wondering how Ben awoke in the middle of the Tanzania. I wonder if his secret room has something to do with it. The mercs kill Alex and Ben exclaims "He changes the rules." Then you find out that Ben and Whitemore have some kind of arraignment. It felt like a bizarre Trading Places moment, instead of a dollar wager it's dead daughters.

I felt like I learned a lot about the island, yet I am still utterly confused about everything and have no idea what I learned. I'm guessing that the Whitemore's were first on the island or had something to do with Darhma and we know what happened from there. Who is evil? I don't know who I should be rooting for. The Losties are just screwed no matter who wins. Look at Sayid, Ben manipulates Sayid with the death of his wife (I'm still thinking Ben has something to do with it). From the looks of it Jack ruptures his appendix Hurley is now all alone with Locke and Ben, I'd say that's a lose/lose.

Oh yeah, then you have the return of Smokey the friendly killer cloud of doom! I guess Ben does control it, how, we do not know. Maybe it's something in Ben's Harry Potteresque room that allows him to control it. I also don't remember Smokey looking that long, nor do I remember it having any train like attributes. Maybe it's just me, but I expected to see a conductor on the back of Smokey. Onto the random thoughts!

I really hate Daniel, I am tired of his bad lying and his constant wishy washiness. Every time he opens his mouth I want to punch him so we can get the truth.

Early on I didn't like Miles and now I kind of do. He is getting shoved around, is lost... he's slowly become one of the Losties.

Hurly is right, Australia is the key to risk.

OK we saw Bernard, but where is Rose?

Prodical Castaway Returns

I liked this weeks episode of Lost, but for some reason there was a disconnect for me. Maybe it's because I stayed up a little to late playing poker last night and I'm still a little tired. The one thing I find interesting is the fact you never really see Walt. The big problem is that he's suppose to be 10 yet in real life he keeps aging and he is going to be 16 this May. The writers have been doing a good job keeping the character in the show without really showing him.

For the first time, I think we actually were given out a lot of valuable information. We find out that Whitemore was the one who planted the plane and that people from the island have a problem dying. We also have conformation that the sea people are in fact wanting to kill everyone.

I think there needs to be a list of created TV characters and Ben is going to be near the top. That guy is so evil, yet at times you feel that he some how is trying to protect the greater good. Has there ever been a more manipulative guy on TV? Has has everyone eating out of his hand. Even after Alex finds out that Ben is not her real father and she still listened to him. Or course that led to the possible death of Rousseau and Karl. He also got into Micheal's head. I loved the line about Ben doesn't kill innocents, yet when Micheal called him out that Micheal had to kill Anna Lucia and Libby the response was, Ben didn't tell him to kill them, Micheal killed them. Damn, that cut him hard.

I'm not pleased with the fact I have to wait a month for new episodes, I know the writer strike threw everything off, but I want more as usual. Here are a few random thought.

We saw a lot of dead people in this episode; George McCaskey, Naomi, Libby and Tom.

What kind of super powers does Miles have? We know he talks to ghost, but what else is there.

Interesting that Sawyer is starting to question Locke about not giving everyone answers.

I'm thinking Miles opened Locke's eyes a little about Ben with his pound cake line.

I thought Learning Physics Was Tough

I am confused about tonight's episode of Lost, I'm not 100% sure what actually happened, but I'll give it a shot. For the post part it was about Jin and Sun as we find out that Sun is the 6th member of the Oceanic 6 (I'm taking partial credit, I thought it would be Jin). We find out that Sun has made it off the island and is giving birth. Then there is the tricky thing that is throwing me off. They kept showing Jin, King Tom thinks it is a flash back to throw us off, I am not too sure about that. Maybe he is alive and he is working for Ben or Witmore, either way that can not be good.

I was shocked at how Juliet convinced Jin and Sun to stay on the beach. I think telling Jin about Sun's affair was a very Ben move. I think she wants off the island like the rest of the losties, but there is something there that almost seems that she is going to stay. Maybe Ben has a stronger hold on her than she realizes.

The biggest shock of the episode is the return of Micheal I mean Kevin Johnson. Other people who find little nuggets of information realized this weeks ago, I did not so I was surprised by Micheal being the one who is Ben's informant on the boat. I guess Ben convinced him to help him a little bit more, "Hey I helped you get off the island, I need your help."

What is up with everyone killing themselves on the boat? What effect does the water around the island do? One woman jumps off the ship and another blows his brains out. Man, note to self, so not go on any freighter trips to islands of mystery.

Overall this was a good episode, but after what we got two weeks ago and part of last week this was a little bit of a downer. If this episode would have happened last year it would have been a top 10 instead it's only going to end up in the middle... I hope. With only 16 episodes for this seasons, there can't be that many meh shows. No random thoughts because, well there wasn't many.

Constant(ly) Awesome

First I'm going to say this, read King Tom's post. He did a much better job than I tonight, I'm blaming the medication.

For an episode that I have no idea what was going on, this week was great. Yet I am confused, I thought we were going to get flashbacks, but instead we find out Desmond is flashing back and forth through time… well at least his consciousness is doing that. I felt like I was in an advanced Physics class at times, yet I wanted to know more. So does that actually validate what happened to him when the swan blew up and he started to see into the future and went back in time? I think Desmond is going to be the key for every major reveal. He is like Lothar the key master.

I love Desmond episodes, you never can figure out what is happening till the end. Desmond was flashing back and forth from 1996 and 2004. I knew Penny would be involved, but I didn’t know how. I was confused, anxious, worried and relieved for the entire episode. What we got was a love story, I was almost moved by the fact that Desmond finally got to talk to Penny. I felt like this was a little Princess Bride with the whole true love thing, but I can deal with it. No I wasn't crying, I just had something in my eye.

Not a lot of answers, but some new information popped up and all that will be revealed in the random thoughts:

Hey, it’s the Black Rock and the first mate was Tovar Hanso! The only thing found was a journal 7 years after it wrecked. It's not quite an answer, but at least it's a small reveal. Maybe we will get more information about Hanso, the Black Rock and why Mr Whitemore bought the journal.

Why was Penny’s dad bidding on the book. I think he has something to do with the boat. Penny is just a cover for him.

I felt like I was watching 12 Monkeys for a while.

I still can’t figure out the pilot, is he good or is he bad. I think he has a hidden agenda, I don’t know what, but something big will happen with him this year.

Was Daniel 1996 modeled after Lazlo?

OK is Daniel jumping around as well? I’m confused; this is going to get weird.

Stolen line of the night: I love you and I always have. First was used in Braveheart. I use that line with the accent on The Wife all the time.

Worst character name so far…. Dr Ray.

I love (George McCousky) he has been in a bunch of TV shows and one of my favorite bad movies Hackers. He always plays a great strange or bad guy.

I Got Scooby Doo'ed

It's Friday so that means another Lost episode recap and for the second week this season I actually got to watch the show as it happened. I took notes this time, yet I left them at work... stupid me. Overall I am not a fan of Kate flash bask/forward episodes. I agree with King Tom to a point, I think Kate is a strong character, except when its a Kate-centric show. It lacks something and I don't know what it is. Also I am getting a little tired of the love ping pong. We get it she runs to one guy then gets bored or picks a fight with Jack and runs to Sawyer (now swap names and repeat).

All episode long I was waiting for the swerve, at first I thought it was going to be Miles. I was for sure he was the spy... nope he just wants lots of money. What is it with him and money, first he's shaking down ghosts and now Ben for 3.2 million. I'm with Ben, why 3.2 million? Why not make it an even 3 or even better 4 million. There's something there and I'm almost wanting to know. Then I kept thinking it was that Kate was preggos, as we find out, Kate was not. Then they waited till the end to reveal it, the next member of the Oceanic 6 is Aaron. I had a feeling when Kate asked if he had seen any of the coverage, I started to think that it was Aaron. According to The Wife she thinks he's probably 2 so if that is true and "currently" Aaron is about 4 months and a trial can take a long time, probably at least four months from arraignment to trial finish, Claire might get killed off in any where from 6 months to 14 months, I say she'll probably die at the end of next season.

What is it with Locke, he is starting to turn into a demented less smart version of Ben. He's threating to kill Kate, shoves a grenade in Miles mouth and exiles Kate and talks about punishments, he is about to loss it! This is the second time Ben has got Locke to crack and throw plates around. Maybe Locke should stop being the guy to give the food to Ben. I can't figure out how far they can take Locke before he goes all Texas bell tower.

I'm loving the post Charlie Hurley more and more. Yet again he had the line of the night. Kate tricks him into telling her the location of Miles. Once it happens he responds with "You just Schooby Doo'ed me, didn't you?" I laughed and then a minute later I get a text from The Wife with that phrase on it. That needs to be added into standard vernacular.

Finally before my random thoughts I need to revise my list of Oceanic 6, so far I had been 4 for 4 and then I missed with Aaron. That means we currently have Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid and Aaron and I now think the last one will be Sawyer. If you look at the list of people still alive, he, Jin and Sun are the only logical ones left, I have a feeling Sun won't make it and Jin will go crazy. Now on to my other random thoughts

Why are Daniel and Charlotte playing three card Monte?

I guess Locke feels like chicken tonight.

Why at the bond hearing was Kate wearing cloths from the set of Dynasty?

I agree with King Tom yet again, I loved Hurley and Sawyer as roommates. That needs to be a webispode type thing. Each week they give us a 5 to 10 minute show about how Hurley loves to watch Xanadu too much and Sawyer never cleans the kitchen.

Where are the "Others" hiding out? It's been a few days now, I think the remaining people might want to return home or at least want to know what happened to Locke and Ben. Last season I kept complaining about The Others and now I want them back.

Grenade in mouth equals non sass... good to know.

Kate learned all her deal making abilities from her mother. I didn't see the I'll not testify if you let me see my grandson card.

Lost Goes All International Man of Mystery on Us

Well I am correct so far as to who is part of the Oceanic 6, Sayid has made it off the island. Yet, I had no idea that he would turn heel. I definably could see him as a hit man, but a hit man for Ben? What does he have over Sayid? I know he mentioned his friends, but what is going on here? As King Tom asked maybe Ben is actually good? I myself am starting to go with the philosophy that he is neither good nor bad. The people looking for the island maybe evil, but Ben is less evil. Yet, who is it that Sayid is looking for, I'm guessing the people who sent the boat, but who are they, regretfully they are the new "others." We keep looking for answers, yet we get more questions.

I am a little upset at Hurly, I thought he was going to become a leader, instead he has become patsy to Locke and I have lost a little respect for him, even though he had the "Great another Saywer" and the"break dance move" lines. I think Hurly has figured out that Locke may not be "stable" and some how will leave the group and rejoin Jack, but I think it we be because Locke will kick Hurly out and some how shame him. He wanted to stay, but was forced out. That is why he wants to go back.

I thought it was eerie that when Katie saw a pair of boots walking towards her from under the bed and that it was Sawyer, it reminded me of Sawyers flashback. The one where we see his dad kill himself.

What's up with Ben's secret room? Is he an international man of mystery? Why does he need so many passports and types of money?

Mental note, to get to Sayid, use a woman. He needs to learn that women are his down fall. First Nadia then Shannon and now Elsa, come on Sayid... look at the trend.

What's up with the time difference on the island, are they some how behind everyone else by 45 minutes? Is the island on a different time space continuum?

I don't trust the pilot, he seems shifty and I don't like it.

I am confused by Jacob's cabin, does it really exist of is an island trick. I'm thinking Locke has lost favor with Jacob for some reason and that Hurly is the key.

Even though I have no idea what is going on with the show (in terms of finality) I love it and I want to see how this ends. How can one show cause so much confusion and yet I keep coming back.

Down Then Way Up

I actually got to watch this episode live, after a long Wednesday (more on that in a later post), I was asked to edit and I was actually happy to. The main reason was exhaustion, the secondary was because Lost was on. Overall I wasn't happy with the beginning of the episode, I was not a fan of the new flashbacks, and I think they prepped up last season for this with the Nikki and Paulo episode.

For the most part I don't like the boat people, Miles is the stereotypical loose cannon, Daniel is too much of a whiner, the only thing going for the English chick is her red hair (sorry, personal thing) and her finding a polar bear with a Dharma collar. Yet you have the pilot guy, I actually liked him, I'm thinking he is going to turn and want to stay on the island, I just have that feeling. This episode took forever to get going, and I started to get interested when Ben shot the English chick, from there on, it was great. I loved the fact Ben is the reason the boat people came to the island. What did he do, was he D.B. Cooper or something? Then when Locke asked about the smoke monster I thought we were going to get answers, I want to know what smokie is! For an episode that started out slow, it ended up being pretty good, so dear creators of Lost, less slow more awesomeness... onto the jackassery:

Ben looked shocked that Hurley knew about the Jacob house.

When Sawyer was about to "pop a cap" in to Ben, Locke said something to the effect of are you going to kill him in front of his daughter, why didn't Sawyer comeback with "Look Shiskabob, she ain't his daughter." In Lost time that revelation only happened like two days ago. Is Hurly going to become a leader now?

When Sawyer was debating about killing Ben, he looked to Hurly and Hurly shook him off. I seriously think Hurly will be playing a huge roll this season.

We figured out how they will explain Walt's growth spurt, just say the island made him 6 foot now.

What is up with Abbadon the bald black guy with the empty office, The King thinks he has a connection to Penny's father, I'm not too sure, I think it's something else, but I don't know yet. Maybe he's with the Polar Bear black market and Ben stiffed him.

I may have more later, the lack of sleep from the past few days has caused some memory loss, I need to rewatch the episode.

Long Wait Is Over

I was a little dissapointed by the fact it wasn't a full two hours of Lost, it's a little bit of a mean joke to mention two hour premier and show one hours of a clip show. Yet I was very happy with that one hour.

So far we only knew that Jack and Kate actually got off the island, yet somehow I thought everyone might make it, till Hurly started screaming about the Oceanic 6. I kept wondering who are the six? We know three, but who are the other three? I must know I'm guessing Sawyer, Jin and Sayid. I love the fact that Hurly was freaking out and wanted to go back to the psych ward, the one place he sort of knew peace. The three biggest intriuges for me in the flash forwards are the cop asking about Anna Lucia, Jack and the mysterious visitor in the mental ward. I'm wondering if the cop knew something and was pumping Hurly for info for Mr. Suit. Then what was that all about Hurly talking about I should have gone with you instead of with Locke? I don't trust the guys on the boat, but still what did Locke do? I guess time will only tell.

This was a very strong start to the season, with only 16 episodes, I'm hoping there is that normal 5 to 7 week drop off and every week is this good, now onto the randomness:

-OK is Hurly special? He did see Jacob right? Yet Hurly has a history of crazy, maybe Jacob is a group crazy thing.

-Was it me or did Jacob look a lot like Jake's dad... just sayin'

-Yet again rain, everytime something bad happens rain is involved, was the split the cause of the rain.

-King Tome made the comment Ben is the strongest person on the island and I would agree. He has had his ass kicked by Rousso and Jack yet he is still trying to manipulate everyone.

-Holy crap, Jack was going to shoot Locke! I think Locke now understands that Jack REALLY wants off the island, he better be glad he emptied the gun.

-I am still sad Charlie is gone, I hope they keep him around as a ghost, or an island mystery.

-How did Naomi climb a tree? She was stabbed in the back? You know what, she might have lived longer if she hid in a bush or something. Kate has a history of being captured, for a tracking expert she should learn how to hide her own tracks better.

I think it's interesting that Rousso is going along with Locke, I know she does not want to leave the island, why not go back to your hideout and get to know your daughter.

-I'm guessing the next flash forward will be Kate. They won't reveal the next person for a few weeks. I'm guessing we will learn the past of Richard, he is the only one a complete mystery.

Finally

Since the end of May I have been waiting for the season of Lost to start. There are so many questions that I must know the answers to, yet ABC and I'm guessing the creators of Lost pushed the season start date till February. As time went on my lust for finding out the needed answers died as time went on. The new year hit and I was to the point I almost forgot that the season was starting soon. I started to get a little giddy and then I found out that iTunes had a recap of Lost that's 8:15 long... and it was free! AWESOME! Then King Tom has a link to Missing Pieces and I'm even more giddy! I want it to be Thursday so bad, I've even had the thought of calling off sick, I won't but man, I don't know if I can wait till midnight to watch the 2 hour premier. I almost think this needs to be a holiday or something.

Lost: That's Why I Continue to Watch This Show!

Before I went to work this afternoon I watched the the two hour pilot of Lost and it reminded me of why I really liked this show. It was suspenseful, great characters, it created questions within the episode that you wanted to find the answers for; it was just a great start to the series. Then I started to think about the prior two season finales. If you remember back to season 1 the year ended with Walt being captured, Hurley screaming about the numbers being bad and the Hatch door being blown open. Season 2 ended with a plot to take over "The Others" only to have it back fire with Jack, Sawyer and Kate being carted off to another island while Walt and Micheal get to leave on a boat.

So what was I to expect with this years dramatic end. I got a lot more than I had expected. One thought that kept popping up was that Jack was going to "Turn Heel" and join Ben ala WWE. With the "flashbacks" of Jack I started to wonder if it was true. With these "flashbacks" I started to get a feeling that something was wrong, I don't know what it is, but something did not jive with Jack's past, I kept wondering if this was a flash forward.

This episode had many great twist that actually forced me to get a chair and put it right in front of the TV. I could not get close enough. The tension was high, you thought that Sayid, Benard and Jin would kill everyone, but no The Others win again. You thought that Ben's order to kill the three was real. I seriously was about to stop watching if they killed two of the main characters, fortunately Tom does not listen to orders and Hurley saved the day. I was shocked to see Jack throw the smack down on Ben. I loved the walkie talkie chat with Tom. "I'm going to get everyone off this island, and then I'm going to come and kill you." YOU GO BAD ASS JACK!

The two biggest moments that do not involve questions were the death of Charlie and Jack storyline. I know a lot of people were getting tired of Charlie, but I still thought he had some great moments left in him. I loved his banter with the two bubble girls, it was a as if he was mocking them because he knew he was going to die. That made me thing, how many shows can kill off major cast members at the rate Lost has, lets go through the big list: Boone, Shannon, Mr Ecko, Anna Lucia and Charlie. In three years that's an average of 1.5 characters a year and you still have a huge cast left. The other big moment was in the Jack story, who was he calling to set up a meeting with. Of course, a lot of people were shocked that it was Kate. Jack basically, could not handle life off the island and went slightly nuts. The big thing now is that the story can evolve off the island. The Chief and were talking about how hard it will be to keep the show going for three more years on the island. Well now we can explore off the island now.

The three big questions from the close of season three will be; is Naomi's ship good or bad. Was Ben actually telling the truth and that Naomi's people will not let everyone off the island or was it another one of his tricks. What the hell is up with Locke? That's all I need to really say because Where the hell did Walt come from? Is he "a special boy" and can appear out of nowhere or has it to do with Jacob. Will Penny ever find Desmond? With those questions gnawing at me for the remainder of the summer, here are the quick points divided into two parts, questions that I need answers for and my usual jackassery.

Questions:
  • Who the hell died in the flash forwards? I'm wondering if it was Juliet. I had a feeling it was, but I don't know. It can't be Hurley the casket was too small (more on that later), maybe Sawyer and I think that would be it. Maybe Locke, but I don't think he will ever leave the Island.
  • Did Kate marry Sawyer? She mention he is going to wonder where I am.
  • Did anyone else catch this. During the confrontation with the Chief of Medicine Jack mentioned that his father was upstairs. Also tried to forge a prescription in his name. Is he alive?
  • What is going to happen to The Others? They have yet to lose and they are about to be found out to the world, are they going to fight off the incoming people?

Jackassery

  • Could they have found a better beard for Jack? That had to be the second worst beard on the show behind the one Tom was forced to wear.
  • I noticed some really bad TV stuff through out the show that did not involve beards. Did anyone else notice that the shot of the radio toward looked like ass? I mean it was grainy and was lifted from a bad episode of Gilligan's Island.
  • Also I thought they did a bad job on Walt's voice to make it sound higher. The trick camera shooting made in seem talk, but the truth is he is probably 6 feet tall now any ways.
  • Note to self: Do not go around Locke while he has a knife.
  • I so want an iSatellite phone.
  • I felt bad for Hurley. Everyone was cracking on his weight for the last two shows and making him feel like a loser and an out cast. What does he do, finds the Mystery Machine and runs down a couple of Others and wins the day.
  • "Wow didn't see that coming" winner was Ben telling Alex that Rouseau was her mom. FINALLY that is over with. Now lets get to Rouseau flash back and be done with the crazy French Lady.
  • Carol Vessy (Jack's wife) was prego... that has to suck for Jack. Also it's been a while, you might want to update your contact info Jack.
  • Jack likes Nirvana.
  • So let me get this straight. Your airplane crashes on a weird island and you have to deal with a group of hostile natives and all the airline gives you is a "golden ticket" to fly for free when ever you want? I don't think White Star Lines gave surviving members of the Titanic free cruise tickets after they made it to shore.
  • I think more people died on this two hour show (at least 11) than Jack Bauer killed all season on 24.

So now I have to sit and wait for a few months till the season three DVD comes out so I can go back and figure out what I missed. I hate TV.

Lost: Not a Greatest Hit Tonight

After last weeks episode, that I actually had to go back and watch later ,and then tonight's first five minutes was great. Then there was a huge let down for the remainder of the show. I seem to be in the minority here, I like Charlie I think his character can go many different ways. He's been evil at times (fake kidnapping Sun) to random good guy (helping Clare), but tonight's flash backs did nothing for me and did not really drive Charlie's character for me. I liked the self sacrifice aspect, but I think the reflection bit feel a little flat for me.

The one big problem with this season seems to be the creation of new questions without giving hints to answers that are already on the table. Tonight was yet another reminder of how this season has not be that good. I'm almost to the point I do not want to know who the two women are in the hatch. Does it really matter? I don't think we will get our answers this season any ways. I know the two hour season finale will probably be great and will have a huge twist (I'm banking that Jake is going to turn on everyone WWE style... well he won't be using a chair on some one's dome, but you get the point. Speaking of points... ON TO THE QUICK ONES!
  • Well Rose and Bernard are not dead. According to Lostedia this is the first time they have been in an episode this season. Come on Lost writers, throw Rose and Bernard a bone.
  • Jake has turned into kind of a jerk since his return. He's pissed about something and wants revenge or at least something... maybe he misses the cheese sandwiches.
  • Rousseau blowing stuff up... priceless. You have to love crazy French ladies that had their babies stolen.
  • What the hell was up with "The Looking Glass" station. Why are there two random women there and what the hell are they going to do to Charlie. The previews show they slap him around a bit, but who knows.
  • Finally Sayid pulls out the maps he found with papa Ben (Roger from the love bug van).
  • The previous point made me think, why is everyone starting to hide things from each other: maps, secret plots about an attack, Rousseau is getting dynamite, charlie is going to die, English broads falling from helicopters, low sperm count... it's just insane people. Secrets only cause problems. I think the island is in need of some Dr. Phil.

That's all I got tonight, I want to write more, but everything I think of is pretty weak. I just hope the two hours next week is a lot better than tonight. It better be on par if not better than the Jacob episode.

Lost: Jacob Ladder

I've complained multiple times about this season of Lost, but man are they ramping up towards the season finale. Until the past few weeks I thought this season was a bust. Tonight turned things around a lot. The best thing going on the show is the interaction between Locke and Ben. The interesting thing I thought was the crazy aspect of both characters. Earlier seasons Locke turned into a weird creepy guy that talks about the island and it's special powers. Well come to find out he is not totally crazy and there maybe something to it. Now with tonight's episode there were moments where you thought Ben was totally insane. I'm talking about Jacob's cabin. There is nothing there and the writers had me going there and I thought Ben was just delusional and everything about him was a lie. Then Locke hears "Help me." HOLY CRAP! I almost plotz right there. Then the room goes crazy and you see someone sitting in the chair and all hell breaks loose when Locke brings in a flashlight.

If that was not enough for one episode you find out that Ben was with Dharma in the beginning and he is the reason why the "hostiles" took over and killed the Dharma folks. With how Ben's father treated him and how he was blamed for his mother's death to go out and kill your dad was insane. I'm waiting for the flashback next season to explain what happened from Ben's first meeting with Richard till the mass killings.

So we learn that Jacob is real and how Ben helped to kill everyone with Dharma, but that was not enough. How about Ben shooting Locke and leaving him for dead. I did see that coming once they showed the shot of Locke standing on the edge of the open mass grave. You knew Ben was not going to let Locke ruin everything that he has build for himself. On the Lost messages boards there is a discussion that Ben is afraid of Locke and that he will become the new leader of the Others. He shot Locke to keep his power and he maybe afraid that since they do not need him any more that he would be the one laying on the pile of dead Dharma members. OK now with the quick points.
  1. All the Losties now know about Naomi and seem really worried that everyone thinks they are dead.
  2. Ben had a messed up childhood; He was born early and his mother died 25 mile outside Portland, his father blamed him for her dead, and they are stuck on an island.
  3. How freaking old is Richard! He is older than Ben and looks either the same age or younger. The new theory is you age less on the island and that Richard was on the black Rock.
  4. I think Alex is starting to turn on her father more and more. She knew that Ben was going to try and kill Locke so she brought him a gun. Teen rebellion!
  5. I'm still wondering about Jack and Juliet. I'm waiting for the swerve and I think they are going to turn on the Losties.
  6. Kate is pregnant. I know I said that last week, but I'm saying it till they tell me otherwise.
  7. Man I'm glad Jin doesn't know English or he'd be kicking some formerly sterile ass right now.

I think we are going to get an answer to something soon. Do I think it will be an answer to a question that I want? Probably not, but we will learn a small piece of information and that will be enough to hook me for another year. I'm guessing Locke is not going to die. He is too big of a character on the show to kill off. Without Locke the island mystery bit is gone and it's nothing but the Others verses the Losties and who would watch that. Locke will be saved by Jacob or some other force, maybe the black cloud and will keep me guessing all summer.

Lost: I So Saw That Coming

Overall I thought tonight's show was really intriguing, the return of Locke and the interesting battle of the wits with Ben, everyone starting to find out about the helicopter pilot and the real non shocker of Locke's dad was the original "Sawyer." I saw this coming quite a while ago. I think it was The Wife who first figured it out last season. With the multiple Locke/Papa Locke episodes this year you could defiantly get the clues, then when Papa showed up on the island, you knew there was going to be a meeting and the reveal. I loved the whole letter bit, I almost forgot about the letter Sawyer had written, but truthfully I thought Papa Locke was a little bit of a dick, actually too much and ruined part of the scene.

Since the beginning there have been Lost fans that believe that the island is purgatory, everyone on the plane crashed and died and now they are waiting for their fate, heaven or hell. I believe the story line tonight was a feint toward the purgatory thinking, but there are too many instances that would make this not plausible. The fact that "The Others" have contact with the outside world and can get video. The fact that Micheal and Walt left the island and when the station when boom it registered at a monitoring station in Antarctica makes me think that they are still alive and my theory from last week still holds. Now to the quick points of the episode:

  • When is everyone going to learn, do not tell Kate anything! She will tell Jack and then Juliet will know.
  • Is Locke some kind of god like figure for The Others?
  • I think Ben set a trap of some sort and let Locke hear the tape and knew he would leak it back to the Losties.
  • The scene with Rousso was an awkward funny moment. "Why are you here?" "I need dynamite. Why are you here?" Sawyer yells at Locke and Locke just sits there whittling.
  • Why does Rousso need dynamite?

Finally they left the episode on a cliff hanger... as usual, but tonight was different. I wanted more, and that is the first cliff hanger in a while that I wanted more and did not want to wait till next week. The big question is what is Jack's secret, is he part of The Others and wants to trap everyone or does Jack and Juliet know about the attack and are going to try and stop it. I believe the second, the reasoning is with tape Sawyer has, he will come in as Jack and Juliet are informing everyone about the attack and Sawyer strolls up and plays the tape, everything will go to hell and The Others will come in and someone will die.

Lost: The Return of Patches O'Houlihan

I had stopped blogging Lost because King Tom was doing such a great job, I thought I give up and just let him be the King that he is. Well, I think King Tom has taken a break/vacation/time off, so I will try and carry on for him till he returns.

Over all this episode seemed kind of mixed bag for me. I think they did not have enough for the Sun baby story line nor the helicopter pilot story line so they jammed them together. I thought these flash backs were the second worst of this season for giving you insight and maybe a glimpse into the type of person they really are. I thought the worst was Paulo and Mandy, they died at the end and made everything pointless. The one important thing you did learn is that it's Sun's fault for what Jin became. The money she took lead to Jin becoming the kick ass ninja like hit man that he became. If she would never have done that maybe she would never have slept with baldie and had to try and leave Jin. I'll go through the bullet points and then do a final thought on the helicopter twist.
  • Ok let me get this straight, Patches O'Houlihan is really Wolverines brother? That's the only explaination I can think of.
  • Note to Hurly, don't tell the others that someone that fell out of the sky has a sat phone on them.
  • Note to everyone on the island, don't let Hurley near flare guns.
  • I think the writers watch Three Kings before they wrote this episode and though, "You know that was a cool trick with the valve in the chest thing, how can we do that and make it more bloody." Yeah I didn't need to see that.
  • OK, they have been on the island for 90 days. That's almost 30 days a season. If you use that then Sun should die in near the end of season 5. This season though I believe has more days in it. Jack, Kate and Sawyer were captured around 56 days and that was the end of season 2. Now we will be over 90 days maybe even 100 by the season finale. That would mean Sun should die around the last episode next year.
  • I kept expecting the Others to pop out and capture Sun ever 5 seconds. It was a little suspenseful, but the ending was a let down. I mean come on! A tape recorder, what is this 1978? You have industry grade Beta tapes, you can't find something better than a $2 cassette recorder? It wasn't even a mini tape, spend the extra money Ben!
  • Since Ecko died I'm creating a new list of losties I would not want to get into a fight with, Jin is now number one. He kicked the ass of a former Soviet Army guy! Patches O'Wolverine got the drop on Locke and Syid, but not Jin. Number two is Locke, just because he is crazy. Desmond and his flashbacks are third, Jack is fourth only because he has seemed changed since his return to camp, then Sawyer well I think Sawyer could grift me out of my money then fight me.
  • I'm waiting for the Charlie and Hurley become Laural and Hardy episode, they keep creeping closer and closer.
  • So sperm seem to like this island.
  • When Juliet was talking into the take recorder she mentioned Kate. Was that a hint that Kate might be pregnant? If so that will create an interesting plot line with the love triangle of convenience. It's most likely Sawyer's. Will Kate name the baby a name only used in old westerns or a Delicious fruit. I'm going with Calamity or Nectarine.

Ok the most interesting thing about Helicopter girl (outside Patches O'Wolverine)was at the end. In a conversation Hurley mentions that he is part of Oceanic Flight 815. Her response what that it was impossible because they found the plane and there were no survivors. I immediately thought of the whole purgatory crap that people keep bringing up. I hope that is not true, I just would have to stop if that was the case. Then I started thinking, what if the Others had something to do with that. Think about it, they know all the info about the people on the island, what is stopping them from crashing a fake plane in the ocean somewhere. This way no one can find the island during the search and they can be left alone.

Final note is for the writers and producers of the show. This season has been the worst so far. I have come to the brink of no longer watching Lost three times this year, only to give it a "one more week" moment. I read an article in USA Today about how television shows seem to be unable to end shows, they either carry on to long or they lose viewers because they lose interest. I believe Lost is on that precipice, I think some answers need to be answered soon. I don't want every secret revealed, but I need to feel like I am getting closer to the finish line and all I seem to get is partial answers and with more questions added in. I hope in the last four episodes I get a little closer to understanding what the hell is going on. Also if you can bring back Patches O'Wolverine, please bring back Mr Ecko, I need my Jesus stick hook uo.

Un -Locke-ing the Island

After reading King Tom's post about last night's Lost I though I should post my comments and maybe that will give me a little bounce back that I need to make this trip a good one.

For the last few weeks, I keep thinking that Locke has become unhinged after his little episode in the now blown up bunker. He's blown, up the only communication with the outside world, let Sayid and Kate get captured by the crazy Russian and he shoved a guy through sonic fence that causes ear bleeding and head explosions. Some how he had a master plan a crazy master plan, but a plan none the less. I believe if you watched the show with a semi-regularity that you realised that Locke does not want to leave the island, so he is now going to destroy everything that will allow the others freedom. It will be interesting to see how things will end up for him. Now on to the points:
  • What the hell is up with Kate? Who does she want Jake or Sawyer? I would almost bet money that if she got Jake away from the Others she would go back to Sawyer. She's crazy Jake, stay away.
  • What the hell happened to Russo? She just up and left everyone.
  • Sayid is the man! "You look like your mother." "My mother's dead." "No she's not." Finally someone tells her about her mom.
  • Locke has a messed up past! I can understand his craziness now. He was an orphan, his mother insane, his father stole his kidney, he lost his girlfriend due to his obsession with his father, got kicked out of the pot compound, and then his father shoved him out of an eight story window, he lives, but is paralyzed and then is on a horrible plane crash. That is a rough life.
  • So is Jake, Kate and Juliet the new love triangle since Anna Lucia did a little glug, glug, vroom vroom, tump, thump (I know she didn't hit anyone while drinking, but that is one of my favorite Krusty the Klown bits.)
  • Great line of the night. "So how do you get electricity" "He have two giant hamsters running on a giant wheel in our secret lair." I know Ben was being sarcastic, but still I could see it happening. think about They have a zoo, a weird smoke monster and other weird stuff so why not giant hamsters.
  • I've not been a fan of this seasons constant Other's plot lines, but tonight was almost worth all those fair to not so good episode.
